Burlington, Vt.-based University of Vermont Health Network signed a deal with generative AI company Abridge for clinical documentation.
UVM Health selected Abridge after conducting an extensive vetting process with 50 primary care providers, and clinicians have been using the solution for around four months. After announcing the deal on July 9, UVM Health plans to roll out the technology platform to cardiology and endocrinology, among other specialties.
"Abridge has delivered spectacular results for our physicians and improved the patient experience," said Jason Sanders, MD, president and CEO of UVM Health Network Medical Group, in a news release. "We've eagerly awaited this day, and there's no turning back."
Over the last four months, UVM Health has seen clinician professional fulfillment increase 53% with Abridge. The clinicians reported 60% drop in time spent on documentation and 51% decrease in cognitive load.
Abridge has been growing rapidly in the last year, and secured $150 million series C funding that included a strategic investment from NVIDIA in February. Other health system partners include UChicago Medicine, Sutter Health, UPMC and Yale New Haven Health System.
