SimplyVital Health announced Dec. 5 the launch of Aletheai, a blockchain-based application programming interface.
The company created Aletheai after discovering a demand for transparency between healthcare organizations when it came to sharing patient data.
By using blockchain, healthcare organizations can rest assured that the information is being stored securely and is up-to-date. The API stores cryptographic hashes along with meta-data to provide an immutable history.
"Alethia is versatile. We're using it in our own platform to help providers with [Merit-based Incentive Payment System] requirements," said Lucas Henderson, chief technology officer of SVH. "The immutability aids with security and compliance in healthcare."
