Renton, Wash.-based Providence's facility in Hyderabad, India, is ramping up its IT workforce to more than 3,500, The Times of India reported Aug. 14.
By the end of 2025, the organization's workforce is expected to grow from 1,500 to 3,500. Providence had been using this facility for tech operations including cybersecurity, process automation and digital operations.
"The team here is helping digitize the healthcare ecosystem to improve patient outcomes and caregiver experiences, while building future ready digital capabilities for tech-led healthcare and run the business of Providence at scale," Murali Krishna, chief global officer and India country head at Providence, told the publication.
The organization is also intensifying efforts to develop advanced capabilities by leveraging emerging technologies, including generative artificial intelligence, machine learning and cloud computing. Additionally, it is bolstering its research and development capabilities to innovate new products, create intellectual property and publish new research.
"We are developing new proof-of concepts and state-of-the-art products in genomics, clinical research, whole person care, and predictive scheduling. Our goal is to work on transformative healthcare technology, set new standards and build new models for care to improve patient well-being," Mr. Murali said.
