ONC seeks public input on national interoperability network

The ONC has launched a website soliciting public input to help shape the roadmap to interoperability.

The ONC is seeking input, comments, feedback and questions to address on the online forum, which the agency will then consider when drafting a new document regarding nationwide interoperability.

"To ensure this nationwide roadmap represents the needs and interests of the nation, we need to hear from a broad array of stakeholders and their perspectives," wrote National Coordinator Karen DeSalvo, MD, and Erica Galvez, interoperability and exchange portfolio manager of the ONC. "Our ultimate goal is to have a learning health system where accurate and evidence-based information helps ensure the right individual receives the right care at the right time to increase healthcare quality, lower healthcare costs and improve population health."

The public can offer insight through Friday, Sept. 12.
