Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health launched voice-activated assistants for Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices.
Via the assistants, patients can use the devices to find Novant Health locations, including emergency care sites, as well as learn what services the locations offer, wait times and office hours.
The software will also send facility addresses, phone numbers, GPS directions and other information to the user's cellphone.
"Enabling access to information through smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Home is one of many ways we use technology to help our patients get the information they need and the care they deserve," said Angela Yochem, Novant Health's executive vice president and chief digital and tech officer.
