Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Fla., has announced that 9,500 patients may have been victim to a data breach, according to a Miami Herald report.
Earlier this year, two former Memorial Healthcare employees accessed patient personal information including names, birth dates and Social Security numbers. The employees may have been intending to file fraudulent tax returns, according to the report. Both employees were fired and may face criminal charges.
