Becker's Hospital Review reported the following health IT executive moves recently affecting hospitals, companies and federal agencies.

1. Toby Cosgrove, MD, former CEO at Cleveland Clinic, joined medical device innovation company InnovaHealth Partners as a senior advisor.
2. Cleveland Clinic appointed James Merlino, MD, its inaugural chief clinical transformation officer.
3. Healthcare technology company Innovaccer tapped Mike Sutten to serve as chief digital officer.
4. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic recruited John Halamka, MD, away from Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he served as CIO.
5. With the Dec. 3 announcement that Google's Larry Page and Sergey Brin have stepped back from their management positions to take more advisory roles in the company they co-founded, Google CEO Sundar Pichai now leads all of Alphabet, including its expansion into healthcare.
6. Hema Budaraju, formerly a product management director for Facebook's health-related initiatives, joined Google, where she will lead projects using Google Maps to fuel social and environmental impact.
7. Stephanie Reel will retire from Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins in July 2020 after three decades as an IT leader there.
8. Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind, the health-focused artificial intelligence firm initially acquired by Google in 2014, is leaving his post to join Google's AI team.
9. Penn State Health selected Cletis Earle to serve as senior vice president and CIO for the Hershey, Pa.-based health system and Penn State College of Medicine.
10. Digital health startup Everlywell welcomed several hospital and health system leaders to its scientific advisory board. The additions include Betsy Nabel, MD, Martin Chavez, MD, Naglaa Rizk, MD, and Marie McDonnell, MD.
11. Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center selected Edmondo Robinson, MD, as senior vice president and chief digital innovation officer, a newly created position.
12. Alphabet appointed biologist Frances Arnold, PhD, to its board of directors.
13. Biotia, a startup combining next-generation DNA sequencing and artificial intelligence technology for precision detection and diagnosis of infectious disease, welcomed Barry Zeman, Don Goldmann, MD, and Steven Salzberg, PhD, to its advisory board.
14. Nancy Flores will join McKesson as its new executive vice president, CIO and chief technology officer, effective Jan. 13.
15. Google Health recruited the CMO of wearables startup AliveCor Jacqueline Shreibati, MD, to its team.
16. Paul Wilder joined CommonWell Health Alliance as executive director of the nonprofit trade association.
17. National Institutes of Health appointed Joshua Denny, MD, CEO of the All of Us precision health research program.
