Microsoft is teaming up with communities in six states to invest in technology and jobs in their smaller metropolitan areas, reports phys.org.
The TechSpark program will launch in six states — North Dakota, Wisconsin, Virginia, Texas, Wyoming and Washington — as a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment to advance computer science education and expand rural broadband.
Microsoft launched the program in Fargo, N.D., Thursday and said its next site will be Appleton, Wis. The company has yet to release the cities for the other four sites.
