Hospital officials at Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center say they have found the compact disc containing protected health information that went missing during the summer, according to The Jersey Journal.
The hospital began notifying patients that a computer disc containing Social Security numbers, birth dates and limited medical information on Medicaid patients was lost in transit.
The hospital allegedly sent the disc in a package to a third-party company that reviews payments to the hospital, though the package never arrived at its destination.
The package was delivered earlier this month, still in its original packaging, according to the report. The disc has been destroyed.
