To help boost threat and information sharing and improve cybersecurity awareness, HHS, ONC and the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response released two funding opportunity announcements to establish an Information Sharing and Analysis Organization.
The organization, which would focus on the healthcare and public health sector, would provide cybersecurity information and education on cyberthreats facing these sectors, expand outreach on cybersecurity awareness, equip stakeholders so they are prepared to respond to cyberthreat information, and further facilitate information sharing in these sectors.
"In short, the ISAO will create a more robust cyber information sharing environment, especially for smaller entities that may not have the resources to access such information on their own, by leveraging existing relationships," according to an ONC blog post.
The combined funding opportunities for the first year will total $250,000, and they could be renewed for up to five years.
