Eight Minnesota healthcare organizations have joined together in a nationwide network that includes other members from around the country, which would connect the medical records of 75 percent of Minnesotans, according to a Minnesota Epic User Group news release.
Through the network of interoperable systems, participating healthcare providers can now access 3.6 million patient records immediately. The eight healthcare organizations participating in MNEUG include:
• Allina Hospitals & Clinics
• CentraCare Health System
• Essentia Health
• Fairview Health Services
• HealthPartners Clinics and Regions Hospital
• Hennepin County Medical Center
• North Memorial Health Care
• Sanford Health
Physician participants in MNEUG have reported increased efficiency, as they are now able to quickly access patient care documents electronically in the exam room rather than repeating tests or exams that may have been performed at another facility. They also said MNEUG supports clinical decision-making by providing clinicians prompt access to comprehensive patient and clinical information.
