Innovation is now foundational in healthcare advancements, and entrepreneurs and innovators are producing new ideas, products and companies each day. A new innovation marketplace seeks to bring these entrepreneurs together and restructure how consumers and providers of innovative healthcare solutions interact.
At the Becker's Hospital Review CEO Roundtable + CIO/CFO Roundtable Nov. 18 in Chicago, Bruce Brandes, managing director of Martin Ventures, introduced Lucro, a healthcare innovation marketplace that allows healthcare leaders to communicate and collaborate with peers around innovative solutions. Mr. Brandes serves as founder and CEO of Lucro.
"The concept is to create a multisided platform to allow buyers and sellers to connect in a private way to get insights about the facts of what a particular company does," Mr. Brandes said in his company unveiling.
With the abundance of products and services in the healthcare environment, users don't have a simple way to search for solutions they want or need. "We're going to Google and googling solutions,” Mr. Brandes said. "We're checking LinkedIn to say, 'Hey what are you using for this?' It's a very fragmented and difficult way to search."
Lucro is a platform seeking to streamline that process and easily connect leaders buying and selling these products.
Lucro has approximately 1,000 hospitals in its early adopter network. Members of the network have access to Lucro's catalog of companies — both emerging and established — and their products, the ability to create project boards where users can "pin" individual projects and ideas into one comprehensive solution, product insights from colleagues and an aggregation of third party insights to help inform decisionmaking.
"I need a way to take the experience [of being at these Becker's conferences] and have it available in my pocket whenever I need it," Mr. Brandes said.
