The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, a nonprofit addiction treatment solutions provider, has selected Cerner to provide its EHR system.
The Center City, Minn.-based foundation operates 16 sites in California, Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois, New York, Florida, Massachusetts, Colorado and Texas. Cerner's system will link all the digital record systems for the foundation's clinics, according to a news release.
The contract follows a major rebranding effort by the foundation following a merger of the Hazelden Foundation and the Betty Ford Foundation in February 2014, according to USA Today. Cerner, based in Kansas City, Mo., offers a behavioral health solution that will be combined with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's My Ongoing Recovery Experience program. The combined offering will be available through a patient portal to aid patients recovering from addictions in re-entering society, according to the news release.
"Partnering with an enormously well-respected technology provider like Cerner, which shares our vision for bringing behavioral health solutions into the care continuum, will enable us to reach more people and be a greater force for help and healing," said Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation president and CEO Mark Mishek in the news release.
