Hema Budaraju, formerly a product management director for Facebook's health-related initiatives, has joined Google, where she will lead projects using Google Maps to fuel social and environmental impact, Business Insider reports.
According to Ms. Budaraju's LinkedIn page, she will hold the same title at Google, where she began working in November. As a director of product management, she will oversee initiatives such as those concerning crisis response and emissions and other environmental insights, according to links she shared on the page.
At Facebook, Ms. Budaraju worked on several health-focused projects, including a feature embedded in the social media platform to encourage and facilitate blood donations and the introduction of Health Support Groups, in which users can post questions and other content anonymously.
In her role at Facebook, Ms. Budaraju often served as a "key public face" of the platform's push into health, Business Insider reports, by participating in panel discussions and interviews about the initiatives she led.
