A number of federal technology officials have recently resigned or been reassigned to other roles, in what Federal News Radio is calling a possible "IT exec purge."
Here are five recent government CIO moves to know.
1. Jonathan Alboum, CIO of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will reportedly take over as the department's deputy senior procurement executive.
2. Sonny Bhagowalia, the former CIO of the U.S. Department of Treasury, was reassigned to the Bureau of Fiscal Service in July.
3. Dave DeVries announced his resignation from the CIO post at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, effective Sept. 2.
4. Robert Foster, CIO of the Department of the Navy, will step down Aug. 9 to serve as the deputy CIO at the National Credit Union Administration.
5. Richard Staropoli, CIO of the Department of Homeland Security, resigned in August after just three months in the position.
