Envision Healthcare, InTouch Health partner on telemedicine: 5 things to know

Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Envision Healthcare and InTouch Health, a provider of telemedicine technologies, have partnered to provide comprehensive telemedicine clinical services.

Here are five things to know about the strategic partnership.

1. The partnership combines Envision's more than 27,000 clinicians and integrated technologies for healthcare staffing services with InTouch Health's telehealth platform. 

2. InTouch Health is a telehealth network and services provider for more than 1,300 hospital locations, including many of the top U.S. health systems and hospitals. The company currently serves more than 30 clinical specialties in the U.S. and 34 countries.

3. Envision Healthcare is parent to a family of physician-led companies, including American Medical Response, EmCare and Evolution Health.

4.  Representatives from Envision Healthcare and InTouch Health spoke positively of the partnership. Bill Sanger, chairman, president and CEO of Envision Healthcare, said in a statement Envision Healthcare is "excited to discover the power of this new relationship and the benefit it can have for our patients." Yulun Wang, PhD, chairman and CEO of InTouch Health expressed similar sentiments, saying in a statement Envision Healthcare's market presence, integrated technologies and physician practice management services "will enable the InTouch Telehealth physician service organization, and its long-standing physician partners, to grow rapidly to meet the increasing patient care needs across the country."

5. The announcement of the partnership comes amid the ninth Telehealth Innovation Forum, a premier conference for telehealth professionals to share experiences in building world-class telemedicine programs. Dr. Wang serves as chairman of this year's scientific program, Care Across the Continuum. Eric Beck, DO, CEO of Evolution Health, an Envision Healthcare company, is among the distinguished faculty and will present on the Intersection of Mobile Care and Telehealth.
