Cisco on May 23 introduced a new security solution for Internet of Things devices called Cisco IoT Threat Defense.
Cisco IoT Threat Defense focuses on segmenting devices on a network, so compromised devices don't open the door to infect the entire organization. "The logical move is to segment these devices to put them out of attackers' reach," Cisco said in a news release. "If devices are compromised, organizations can prevent them from being used as pivot points to move through the network."
The security solution also enables users to detect atypical behavior, identify compromised hosts and analyze traffic to and from IoT devices. Cisco developed the solution for use in medical care, power generation and automated manufacturing.
