As CIO and vice president of ancillary services of Owosso, Mich.-based Memorial Healthcare, Frank Fear oversees the technology efforts of a small hospital budget to achieve large hospital results.
Mr. Fear worked with the hospital's integration partner to develop a dashboard gathering data from multiple systems to automate its tracking and reporting processes, helping the hospital achieve Stage 1 of meaningful use. Now, the dashboard is being used by more than 100 hospitals across the country.
Mr. Fear is also working to integrate Apple Health data and tools into the EHR, allowing patients to access and be active in their care, as well as allow hospitals to pull data from a variety of sources and develop a more patient-centric environment.
