Edward Ricks, MHA, has more than 20 years of health IT experience, spending more than 10 years at a senior level.
Mr. Ricks currently is vice president of information service and CIO of Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital, a position he has held for the past six years. Mr. Ricks recently oversaw an enterprise-wide initiative to improve patient throughput by altering care coordination processes. The project helped the hospital realize annual savings of approximately $480,000 by using real-time data to better manage high-impact patients and change hospital culture to focus on accountability for patients.
Before joining Beaufort Memorial, Mr. Ricks was CIO of Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y.
Mr. Ricks is a member of both HIMSS and CHIME. He is also on the advisory board of Meditech 6.X Service, Centurylink and Imprivata.
