Children's Medical Center of Dallas Launches State's First Neonatal Telemedicine Program

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in Tyler, Texas has become the inaugural affiliate of Children's Medical Center of Dallas' dedicated neonatal telemedicine program, the first in the state.

Children's Medical Center TeleNICU allows for two-way, real-time communication between University of Texas Southwestern neonatologists at Children's with practitioners at affiliate hospitals, and aims to improve neonatal care throughout the region. Neonatologists at Trinity Mother Frances can now use the service for a range of consults, including interpreting images and medical data, confirming diagnoses and conferring on treatment plans.

"From the attending physician's perspective, a TeleNICU consult provides me with added confidence in my diagnosis, and added assurance that we have considered every possible treatment option," said Brenda Morris, MD, neonatologist and medical director of the Trinity Mother Frances-Tyler NICU in the news release.
