Change Healthcare is offering free clinical data interoperability services on Amazon's cloud platform, Amazon Web Services, to promote better health outcomes and transparency for patients and clinicians.
The initiative aims to help facilitate data sharing in healthcare and reduce the time and effort needed to track down patients' medical records from various healthcare delivery systems.
"With consumers carrying an increasing share of the healthcare cost burden, the focus of interoperability services must be on empowering providers and patients with timely access to their data, so they can make better decisions," Kris Joshi, PhD, executive vice president and president of network solutions at Change Healthcare, said in a press release.
The interoperability services enhance patient privacy and enforce patient consent by using standards like Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources and open application programming interfaces to integrate with all EMR systems.
