Change Healthcare joined a consortium of healthcare companies led by blockchain startup Hashed Health.
The Hashed Health consortium aims to accelerate the use of blockchain technologies among healthcare organizations. The consortium focuses on how blockchain has the potential to facilitate transactions related to medical claims, records and payments, among other functions.
"Blockchain has [the] potential to enable value-based care, and we're committed to championing innovation that helps our customers and partners realize that potential,” said Aaron Symanski, chief technology officer of Change Healthcare.
Change Healthcare also joined Hyperledger — an open-source, cross-industry effort to advance blockchain — as a premier member in May.
