LaSalle, Colo.-based Carent Laboratory Solutions, an alliance of nine hospital-based laboratories in Colorado and Nebraska, announced Monday it selected McKesson for revenue cycle management services.
McKesson will provide claims management, denial management, compliance, customer service and business intelligence reporting, but billing will be done independently at each hospital lab, improving Carent's operational insight and transparency.
"With McKesson's help, we are confident we can enhance the alliance's financial performance and further boost our competitive position," Carent COO Daryl Bohlender said in a statement. "Each of the members has unique needs that McKesson will be able to address in expert fashion, so we are excited about what this alliance will mean for our organization."
Carent handles more than 1 million tests each year.
