Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota employs approximately 3,500 people. Over the next few years, the health insurer plans to eliminate 450 jobs within its IT division, according to a StarTribune report.
Many of the payer's current IT systems require manual processes. But, Blue Cross is planning to implement new technology platforms from 2016 to 2019, which will eliminate the need for many of these processes.
