American Well and Cisco are expanding telehealth services for homebound, elderly patients by converting home TV sets into American Well-powered virtual care delivery stations.
Through the partnership, the telehealth platform and the technology company aim to increase elderly patients' access to hospital and health system providers, who patients will be able to virtually connect with at home through their TVs.
For elderly patients, who are often limited in their access to traditional medical care, the "technology and infrastructure [through the collaboration] will help collapse the space between home and medical professionals so our senior population can receive the medical care they deserve," Cisco Senior Vice President of Collaboration said in a news release.
