IDEA Labs, a national biotechnology network run by students from schools like HarvardUniversity in Cambridge, Mass., and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, has support from a new partner — the American Medical Association.
"Innovation is a key driver in making the health system work better for everyone," AMA CEO and Executive Vice President James L. Madara, MD, said in a statement. "The AMA looks forward to working together with Idea Labs to help young entrepreneurs identify and understand key challenges in modern medicine and inspire innovation that will deliver meaningful solutions for patients and physicians."
IDEA Labs works to connect young companies with ideas that could shake up biotech with investors, advisors and resources to help them expand and explore their concepts. The AMA also partners with MATTER, a Chicago-based healthcare technology incubator for physicians and entrepreneurs, and Health 2046, an incubator based in San Francisco.
