Alphabet's GV backs fertility tech startup

Kindbody, a healthcare technology startup providing fertility, gynecology and wellness services, announced Dec. 12 that it has reached total funding of $32 million after an infusion from Alphabet's GV, formerly Google Ventures, and other investors.

The startup was founded in 2018 with a team representing executive alumni of Google, New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System, Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine, Oscar Health, Flatiron Health and more. Co-founder Gina Bartasi is the former CEO of fertility benefits startup Progyny, which went public in October and is now valued at more than $2 billion.

Kindbody comprises a collection of standalone brick-and-mortar and mobile clinics, a network of partner clinics across the U.S. and telehealth and care navigation services. Earlier this year, the company introduced a tech-based employer solution, comprising an EHR system, patient portal and analytics platform, which has already been adopted by 15 employers to provide employees with a fertility care solution.
