1. New York City-based Senior Health Partners reported a data breach affecting approximately 2,700 patients after a business associate's laptop and cellphone were stolen from her apartment.
2. A laptop reported missing from Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, Calif., may contain the data of 7,900 patients who received ophthalmology and dermatology services.
3. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, an administrative partner of TRH Health Plan, accessed the names and addresses of members of TRH Health Plan and inappropriately used the information to create marketing materials. TRH notified approximately 80,000 members of the incident.
4. Albany, N.Y.-based St. Peter's Health Partners notified more than 5,000 patients of a potential data breach after a manager's cellphone was stolen.
5. DJO Global, an orthopedic medical device company based in Vista, Calif., reported a data breach after a laptop was stolen from a DJO consultant's car in Roseville, Minn.
6. The Department of Veterans Affairs reported a data breach after discovering a flaw in a patient database managed by a third party vendor providing telehealth services exposed the personal information of more than 7,000 veterans.
7. Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross notified 12,500 members that their its personal data may be compromised after discovering paper records were improperly discarded.
8. San Francisco-based Dignity Health notified patients of a data breach at one of its hospitals after discovering transcribed physician notes were publicly accessible on a third party website.
