The following CIO appointments were announced in the past month, beginning with the most recent.
1. KentuckyOne Health Names CIO
Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health selected Doug Jones as regional CIO for the downtown Louisville medical campus.
2. Baptist Health Selects Dr. David Bensema as CIO
Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health appointed David Bensema, MD, as CIO. Dr. Bensema had previously served as the system's CMIO.
3. CTCA Selects Kristin Darby as CIO
Schamburg, Ill.-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America named Kristin Darby CIO. Previously, Ms. Darby served as CIO of the northeast region of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
4. Chad Eckes Joins Wake Forest Baptist as CIO
As of March, Chad Eckes is the CIO of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Previously, Mr. Eckes served as chief strategy officer for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
5. Sharp HealthCare Names Ken Lawonn CIO
Sharp HealthCare in San Diego appointed Ken Lawonn CIO. Prior to his current position, Mr. Lawonn served as senior vice president for strategy and technology at Alegent Creighton Health in Omaha, Neb.
6. Baylor Scott & White Appoints Matthew Chambers CIO
Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White officially announced Matthew Chambers as the system's CIO. Mr. Chambers previously served as CIO of Scott & White Healthcare in Temple, Texas. Last fall, Dallas-based Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare completed their merger, forming the largest nonprofit health system in the state.
7. Effingham Health System Names Mary Pizzino CIO
Effingham Health System in Springfield, Ga., named Mary Pizzino CIO. Ms. Pizzino joined the health system in 2006, and since then has been working in a management capacity in the system's IT department.
