The following health IT accelerators and incubators have recently announced new classes of startup companies.
DreamIt Health, a health IT accelerator run by Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine, Independence Blue Cross and DreamIt Ventures, selected its next class of nine startups. The startups are working on products ranging from low-cost 3-D printers for biological materials to a data-based patient scheduling system.
University City Science Center's Digital Health Accelerator announced the selection of seven startups for the Philadelphia-based accelerator's first class. The startups are focusing on products like consumer-facing wellness apps and devices able to monitor and diagnose infectious diseases.
The Iron Yard, an accelerator based in Spartanburg, S.C., picked nine startups for its second annual class. The startups range from developers of a mobile platform for clinical trial analytics to the creators of an Xbox game designed to foster recovery in stroke patients.
