Grupo Ángeles Servicios de Salud, a healthcare organization in Mexico City, will adopt IBM's Watson for Oncology platform.
Grupo Ángeles Servicios de Salud is the first healthcare organization in Latin America to deploy the decision-support technology. The cloud-based platform, which was trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, mines information from more than 300 medical journals and more than 200 textbooks to inform oncology care.
"With Watson, our team of oncologists can make informed treatment decisions for patients based on insights derived from the individuals' unique health status, medical research and other relevant data," said Florentino Bernardo Pérez, CIO of Grupo Empresarial Ángeles.
