With an uber-competitive market for tech talent in healthcare and other industries, employers often have to go above and beyond to recruit IT professionals. Beyond compensation, here are the top 10 perks that tech workers value the most, according to a survey by career marketplace Hired.
The Sept. 13 study is based on data from 907,000 interview requests through Hired's marketplace and more than 2,000 survey responses from tech workers around the world between January 2019 and June 2022.
1. Flexible work schedule (e.g., work-from-home flexibility, flexible hours): 11.4 percent
2. Paid time off: 10.2 percent
3. Physical health, dental and vision insurance/benefits: 9.3 percent
4. Retirement plan benefits (e.g., 401(k) matching): 9.3 percent
5. Performance-based bonus: 9.2 percent
6. Stock in a publicly traded company: 8.6 percent
7. Equity in a privately held company: 8 percent
8. One-time cash bonus: 7.7 percent
9. Mental health benefits: 6.8 percent
10. Wellness stipends: 6.6 percent
