What happens when you gather 10 business launchers for 10 days to discuss 10 of healthcare's biggest problems? Hopefully, a startup with a solution.
That's the goal of the 10.10.10 project.
From Feb. 16 to Feb. 26, 10 prospective healthcare startup CEOs will gather in the McNichols Civic Center Building in Denver to work through these "Wicked Problems" and determine if they have a viable marketable solution to any of them.
Part of the 10.10.10 program are "validators," or entities and individuals who are highly involved in the healthcare industry and understand the issues. Validators, according to the 10.10.10 website, "validate that Wicked Problems are indeed Wicked Problems."
Validators of this program include Colorado Health Foundation, Xerox, CHIME, California Healthcare Foundation, and Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente. Validators are handpicked.
Tom Higley, founder and CEO of the 10.10.10 project, said in a Denver Business Journal report the program is unique, given its condensed timeframe and focus on marketable, focused solutions instead of large-scale, society-wide approaches.
This week's event is the first 10.10.10 program, but Mr. Higley said in the report he hopes to expand the program to three times a year, tackling Wicked Problems in other areas such as education and energy.
