Zotec Partners names Ron Duplessis VP of information security: 5 things to know

Physician billing and practice management services company Zotec Partners has appointed a new vice president of information security.

Here are five things to know.

1. Ron Duplessis was hired as the company's new vice president of information security.

2. In this role, he will lead Zotec's cybersecurity and information technology risk strategies.

3. Prior to joining Zotec, Mr. Duplessis was the cybersecurity manager at Midcontinent ISO.

4. "Data related to healthcare is attractive and lucrative for cybercriminals, and as we have seen, this industry is often the target of cyber attacks and security breaches," said Mr. Duplessis. "Since so many organizations rely on electronic systems for mission-critical functions, securing a company's cyber infrastructure and data involves measured planning, technical expertise and business knowledge. In my new role, Zotec's information security and data protection will be a number one priority in supporting the company's mission."

5. Mr. Duplessis completed his bachelor's degree in information systems analysis and design from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., and completed his master's degree in telecommunications and business administration at California State University.
