The internal risks worrying CFOs

Generative artificial intelligence adoption is the top internal concern for finance chiefs, according to Deloitte's "CFO Signals Survey 2Q 2024." 

Two hundred CFOs participated in the survey, according to Deloitte. The company said 62.5% of CFOs surveyed were from public companies and 37.5% were from privately held firms. One-fifth of participating CFOs had more than 10 years of experience, and 71% had between five and 10 years of experience. 

Here are the top internal risks worrying CFOs:

  1. GenAI adoption (lack of Gen AI talent, execution risk, etc.): 48%
  2. Talent (hiring/retention): 47%
  3. Technology transformation: 45%
  4. Efficiency and productivity: 44%
  5. Skills gap (general): 43%
  6. Cost management: 38%
  7. Strategy and execution: 37%
