Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Hospital & Clinics and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital reported a combined $265 million in net income from operations in fiscal year 2011, according to Stanford's 2011 annual report (pdf).
SHC generated $173 million operating income, an increase of 73 percent from the $100 million total in FY 2010. LPCH's operating income totaled $92 million, which is up 77 percent from $52 million in FY 2010.
Total operating revenues at SHC increased by 11 percent to $2.2 billion in FY 2011, and LPCH's total operating revenues were $924 million, up 15 percent.
Charity care and community benefits totaled $205 million at SHC and $164 million at LPCH.
