S&P revises North Colorado Medical Center's outlook to negative

S&P Global Ratings affirmed the "A+" rating on Greeley-based North Colorado Medical Center's revenue bonds issued by Colorado Health Facilities Authority.

The affirmation is based on several factors, including the medical center's strong market position, healthy financial profile and solid medical staff, which is well aligned through Banner Medical Group in Greeley.

The outlook was revised to negative from stable.

"The negative outlook reflects NCMC's increasingly competitive market, as well as its deteriorating payer mix and multiyear trend of declining inpatient volumes," said Allison Bretz, S&P Global Ratings credit analyst.
