S&P assigns 'AA' rating to Duke University Health System's bonds

S&P Global Ratings has assigned an "AA" rating to Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System's series 2016D bonds.

The rating assignment is based on a number of factors, including DUHS'solid balance sheet, national reputation and stable leadership team.

The outlook is stable. "The stable outlook reflects DUHS' solid enterprise profile and ample unrestricted reserves, which together are expected to provide stability to the rating during a period of potential increased capital spending, balance sheet pressure and projected decreased earnings," said S&P analyst Jessica Goldman.
