S&P Global Ratings affirmed its "A" long-term rating and underlying rating on San Francisco-based Dignity Health.
The affirmation is a result of Dignity Health's recently improved financial performance, favorable geographic dispersion and strong enterprise profile.
The outlook remains negative as a result of Dignity Health's pending merger with Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives. S&P expects to lower the rating when the upcoming merger is finalized.
