Paychecks late at Tennessee hospital, nurses say

Two nurses from Jellico (Tenn.) Community Hospital told local CBS affiliate WVLT News that their Aug. 30 paychecks hadn't arrived as of Sept. 4.

The nurses said their last paycheck came three days late. They reported that other staff also had late checks. The state labor department will not investigate until paychecks are 21 days late, according to the report.

Jellico Community Hospital has been on Tennessee's list of hospitals at risk of closure since February, according to the report. Jellico Community Hospital was purchased in February by West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Rennova Health, the same company that owns nearby Jamestown (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center. Jamestown Regional was closed in June.
