Employees of a Mississippi hospital recently saw their paychecks delayed, Greenville, Miss.-based Delta Health System confirmed to Becker's.
Delta Health System CEO Iris Yeldell Stacker attributed the delay to an internal banking issue with Planters Bank & Trust Co.
She said the issue occurred June 30 and affected approximately 400 employees. Affected employees received their direct deposits as of July 3, according to Delta Health System.
A letter from the Planters Bank President Parker England apologized for the error and said the bank's investigation "found that our staff did not properly submit the file to deposit paychecks to your employees who do not bank with Planters Bank," according to NBC affiliate WLBT.
Ms. Stacker said the bank is "ensuring that any employee that incurred late fees or overdrafts on their accounts are reimbursed by Planters Bank. The bank is also taking steps to ensure that this does not happen again."
