Orlando Health alliance extends to 4 hospitals in Puerto Rico

Orlando Health (Fla.) has expanded its partnership with Doctors' Center Hospital to include four hospitals and a free-standing emergency department in Puerto Rico.

In October, Orlando Health teamed with Doctors' Center Hospital to create Doctors’ Center Hospital Orlando Health-Dorado. The new brand replaced Sabanera Health Dorado, the name of Puerto Rico's 105-bed hospital that opened in March 2022.

The partnership includes hospitals in San Juan, Bayamón, Manatí and San Fernando de la Carolina and an ambulatory diagnostic and treatment center in Arecibo. The health systems will collaborate on various initiatives to improve quality and care for patients and upgrade clinical programs and the training of staff.

Orlando Health is a 3,888-bed system that includes 29 hospitals and emergency departments — 24 of which are currently operational with five coming soon.
