Seattle-based First Choice Health has entered into an agreement with Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System and its ACO MultiCare Connected Care that gives First Choice clients access to MCC's clinically integrated network.
First Choice offers third-party administrative services to employees through self-insured employers throughout the Northwest. The First Choice-MultiCare contract is designed for self-insured employers in the region.
Under the new contract, MultiCare and First Choice will focus on providing comprehensive care through a value-based reimbursement structure.
"There has been strong receptivity to the 'pay for value' model with payers and plan sponsors in the Puget Sound area," said Christopher Kodama, MD, president of MultiCare Connected Care. "We want to be able to work effectively with these organizations to continue to lead improvements in health and healing and to improve the overall health of our populations through innovative models like the new First Choice-MCC relationship."
