Moody's Investors Service affirmed its "A3" rating on Middletown, Conn.-based Middlesex Hospital, affecting approximately $40 million of rated debt.
The affirmation is a result of several factors, including the hospital's leading market position, favorable leverage metrics and low cost structure. Moody's also acknowledged the hospital's small size and the uncertainty surrounding Connecticut's state tax program and Medicaid funding.
The outlook is stable, reflecting Moody's expectation that Middlesex Hospital will see a stable or improved operating performance in the near-term.
