Mayo Clinic's $126.5M aids record investment year for Destination Medical Center

Destination Medical Center in Rochester, Minn., received record investments in 2018 for the multibillion-dollar economic development initiative, according to the Post Bulletin.

The DMC Economic Development Agency reported about $261.8 million in new private investment in 2018. That's nearly double the amount of private investments DMC received in 2017.

A large portion of the increase in investments was from private developments outside of Mayo Clinic in Rochester. These private developers and other entities invested $135.3 million in DMC in 2018, nearly triple the $44.7 million spent the year prior.

For its part, Mayo Clinic invested $126.5 million in DMC last year, compared to $86.3 million in 2017, according to the Post Bulletin.
