Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital received a $25 million donation from Johnson & Johnson heir Elaine Wold and her nonprofit Bay Branch Foundation, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Here are three things to know.
1. Ms. Wold's gift will be used to support the hospital's expansion project, which is expected to cost $260 million. The new construction project will include a seven-story patient tower, an intensive care unit and a parking garage.
2. With her donation, Ms. Wold received naming rights; however, it will not be named after her. Instead, Ms. Wold wants the tower to be named after Gloria Drummond, who founded the hospital after her two children died from poison in 1962. Ms. Wold and Ms. Drummond were reportedly friends.
3. The hospital also recently received $75 million from the late Richard Blackman and $25 million from Bernie Marcus, the former CEO of Home Depot.
