Indiana hospital to close in April

Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Ind., and its affiliated clinics will close April 27, according to the News and Tribune.

Three things to know:

1. The hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2013 and subsequently entered into a management agreement with Galichia Hospital Group.

2. GHC sent a letter to Kentuckiana Medical Center's roughly 200 employees informing them their employment will be terminated when the hospital closes.

"While I realize this will be a difficult time for everyone my hope is that you will be able to remain professional and compassionate towards patients, patient families and your KMC team members in the days ahead," Michael Phillips, co-founder, COO and CFO of Galichia Hospital Group, stated in the letter.

3. Kentuckiana Medical Center has been in operation since 2009, according to the report.
