Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare saw the greatest increase in share price at 8.9 percent.

- Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $4.36 per share (up 4.3 percent)
- HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $84.04 per share (up 8.9 percent)
- LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $46.35 per share (up 2.4 percent)
- Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $13.50 per share (down 1.7 percent)
- Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $108.09 per share (up 7.6 percent)
