Among the major for-profit hospital operators Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price at 11.3 percent.

- LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $49.20 per share (up 3.4 percent)
- Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $19.50 per share (up 8.3 percent)
- Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $117.94 per share (up 2.4 percent)
