Fitch Ratings has affirmed the "BBB+" rating assigned to $208.2 million in series 2007 revenue bonds issued on behalf of University Health System, a teaching facility in Knoxville, Tenn.
The rating affirmation was supported by a number of factors, including UHS' increasing market share. The health system has increased its market share every year in the last five years.
The system also faces some challenges, which were considered for the rating affirmation, such as having historically weak operating performance that falls below Fitch's "BBB" rating median.
